Alexandra Mitlyanskaya – painter, video artist.

d.o.b. in 1958, lives and works in Moscow.

Graduated from the Art Department Faculty of the Moscow Institute Graphic Arts.

In the last decade, Alexandra Mitlyanskaya has turned exclusively to video art. She is the author of video films and multichannel video installations in which time, its length in the visual perception of a person is the main component.

Mitlyanskaya’s most significant personal exhibitions were held in the State Russian Museum, Saratov State Art Museum named after Radishchev, the State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSPHOTO, St. Petersburg, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, in the Kaliningrad Branch of the State Center for Contemporary Art. Her painting, objects and video installations were presented in the museums in Russia and Germany, Austria, Latvia, Lithuania, India, Korea.

She is the winner of the Video Festival «Now and Then». Nominee for the Kandinsky Prize 2017, grant winner of the Joseph Brodsky Fellowship Fund 2019-2020, resident of the American Academy in Rome 2019.

Mitlyanskaya's works are in the collections of the State Hermitage, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the National Center for Contemporary Art, the State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSPHOTO, in the collections of regional museums and art galleries in Russia, Wooyang Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea and Wilhelm Otten Kunstraum, Austria.
